Wise Habit: "Sustainable Home – materials and solutions"

The future of sustainable design starts here. The exhibition "Sustainable Home – materials and solutions" showcases innovative, environmentally friendly and local materials in the context of architecture and construction. It's a vision that connects nature, empathy and innovation.

At the heart of the exhibition is a model of an eco-friendly house, its cross-section revealing the structural and finishing layers made from materials sourced from the Library of Sustainable Materials – the first in Poland and third in Europe repository of regenerative, innovative, sustainable materials for the architecture of the future.

The circular horizon of the exhibition is set by display stations with full-size material samples, connected to the model by natural pathways – creating a three-dimensional map of innovative solutions.

The exhibition explores a variety of raw materials – from compressed organic ingredients such as Alpine hay, coffee or wildflower petals, to repurposed bricks, demolition waste and recycled fishing nets, as well as mycelium panels grown through biomimicry. Some materials draw from thousand-year-old traditions, while others are the result of the latest technologies. What they all share is durability and safety – for both human health and the planet.

Every design choice stems from respect for resources and the local context. The materials presented are sourced from Poland and Europe. The house stands on stilts, not disturbing the soil, to maintain the natural rhythm of the ecosystem. Its construction references Slavic wooden architecture, utilizing traditional wood-joining techniques known in other cultures as well. Together, they create a new vision of glocality – merging local traditions with universal potential.

This exhibition is a manifesto for architecture that does not destroy, but rather supports and coexists.

Library of Sustainable Materials

Wise Habit operates the first Library of Sustainable Materials in Poland and the third in Europe. Its goal is to support designers and architects in creating planet-friendly products and spaces. The Library offers alternatives to traditional materials used in architecture, product design, packaging and fashion. It provides access to samples, expert consultations and inspiration for implementing innovations. This invaluable tool for conscious architects fosters creativity while helping to care for the well-being of both people and the planet.
