Not demolishing and valuing the resources invested in existing construction reflects not only the desire to reduce the ecological footprint but, above all, the ambition to establish lines of continuity.

Preserving construction principles, programmatic features, material qualities, users, and the relationships the building establishes with the city are now a form of resistance to the logic of replacement that guides urban transformation. Change is necessary, as is continuity.
